What I love about this tutorial is that it makes saving money more fun! Kayla Renee shows how to create simple & artistic savings trackers. Every time you reach one of your financial goals, you color in a portion of your tracker. It’s really motivational to see the extent of your progress and to feel actively involved in the process. My investments are (mainly) set on autopilot. Since the work of saving towards my goals occurs in the background, I started getting antsy. I felt like I should be doing more, when in reality, I wasn’t taking into consideration what I was already doing. Once I got a tracker and started charting the progress I was making, I felt MUCH better.
I didn’t make the journals shown here, but have created my own unique tracker and have purchased a few online. Doesn’t matter if you take Kayla’s approach or just decide to buy a tracker, the effect of seeing your growth over time can be truly illuminating. She has some really cool ideas that can change saving money from a boring chore into a series of personal victories. Her intro made me a little dizzy, so you might want to skip ahead 20 seconds. Other than that, its a wonderful video – Check it out!
