I recently stumbled on The 7 newsletter by The Washington Post and instantly fell in love! Though it’s not a finance newsletter per say, it does include the top 7 news stories for the day. This often extends to financial news such as student debt waivers, food prices, tax matters, etc.. What sets this daily newsletter apart is how short it is. The entire newsletter is around 400 words and is guaranteed to be 3 minutes or less. In comparison, CHEDDAR’s newsletter, The Kneed2Know is typically over 1000 words long. You can also choose to listen to the 3 minute newsletter instead of reading it. Each story explains what happened, why it’s important and provides links to stories you want to read more about. It quickly lets you know everything you need to know for the day, is published Monday – Friday at 7am, and can either be sent to your email or read on their site.
